If you see a strange, thick tread beneath the canopy of the Belizean rainforest, look up! You just might see a rare arboreal manatee (Trichechus arborealus). The shy creatures venture inland leaving deep grooves on the forest floor. With their strong backend, they launch themselves unto low hanging branches to sun themselves.
